Research and clinical trials at NZERC

The New Zealand Eye Research Centre (NZERC) is a clinical eye research centre at 37 Lake Road, Frankton, Hamilton, established in 2023 and working alongside its affiliated clinical practice, Rose Optometry. We run commercial and investigator-led studies in myopia, dry eye, contact lens technology, keratoconus and intraocular lens research. This page points you to the right place.

For sponsors, device companies and CROs

Start with our information for sponsors and CROs, then the page that matches your product:

• Myopia clinical trials — axial length, choroidal endpoints, every treatment modality in routine use.
• Dry eye and ocular surface trials — sign and symptom endpoints, with comparator devices on site.

Evidence and publications

We publish evidence reviews on the treatments we research, written for clinicians and with the numbers in them. They are collected in Insights, including reviews of myopia control trial evidence and device-based treatment of meibomian gland dysfunction.
